New Frame Drumming Videos from Pete Lockett
Pete Lockett has posted a few videos on frame drumming in the handheld position. You can find the written examples on www.idrummag.com; the videos can be found below. Good information for beginners.
If you're serious about drums and percussion, you need to check out Pete's website. He has an amazing number of articles and resources there-- on everything from table to drumset. Speaking of which, his book, Indian Rhythms for Drumset, is great, too. More on that later.

Product Plug
Okay, it's been six months, and there's been no activity on this blog.
Maybe it's time to do something.
First, a product plug.
Check out the Rhythm Tech Laptop. Seriously. It's amazing. If you don't know what it is, here you go:
It's basically a snare drum head with a small rim and the active snare system attached to it. It's 13" in diameter and comes with a carrying case with a sleeve to hold a pair of brushes and a pair of sticks. It's basically a practice snare drum, but there are plenty of other things you can do with it: I use it in conjunction with my percussion setup, and I also use it to practice frame drum techniques. I highly recommend it, especially if you want to work quietly (or even not so quietly) on your brush technique.
